

Craig L. McMullen April 20, 1943-Nov. 25, 2006 story updated November 28. 2006 11:13AM DALLAS, Ga. - Craig L. McMullen, 63, of Dallas, formerly of Dundee and Monroe County, died Saturday.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Amberly Apartments Clubhouse, Dallas, where he lived for the past three years. Carmichael Funeral Home, Marietta, Ga., is in charge of arrangements. Born April 20, 1943, in Monroe County, he was the son of Joseph and Marge (Breitner) McMullen. He was a 1962 graduate of Dundee High School, Dundee.He moved to the Atlanta area in 1969 to pursue his career in insurance sales with John Hancock Mutual Life. He returned to Dundee in 1981 for a few years but then relocated back to Georgia to be near his family.He enjoyed watching sports, boating, working on his computer and spending time with family and friends.Surviving are two daughters, Michele Puckett and Kimberly Stokest, both of Powder Springs, Ga., and two grandsons.Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or the Heart Association.Online condolences maybe sent to www.carmichaelfuneralhomes.com.

David E. Lenz Feb. 25, 1943-April 9, 2007
LASALLE - David E. Lenz, 64, of LaSalle died at 4:27 p.m. Monday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe. He had been ill since December.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Memorial Park. Members of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Donald M. Squier Post 3943, VFW, Newport, will officiate. Burial will follow. Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, is in charge of arrangements.
Born Feb. 25, 1943, in Dundee, he was the son of George and Grace (Vandercook) Lenz. He married Clara K. Heck Feb. 21, 1970, in Tennessee.
Mr. Lenz worked at Ford Motor Co.'s Rawsonville plant, Ypsilanti, retiring in 2002.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
A graduate of Cheboygan High School, he was a life member of Donald M. Squier Post 3943, VFW.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Marc D. (Pam) Baldwin and RobertW. Baldwin, both of Monroe; a daughter, Tracey J. Bitz of Newport; a brother, Fred (Amy) of Ceresco; three sisters, Helen (Steve) Begal, Grace (Greg) Wolangur and Anna (Patrick) Coleman, all of Cheboygan, and four granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dale K. Cooley Jan. 14, 1937 - Jan. 4, 2008
Dale K. Cooley, 70, of Dundee, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday at home. He had been seriously ill for three months.
Friends may from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Martin Zimmerman, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born January 14, 1937, in Lambertville, MI; he was the son of Walter A. and Freda A. (Heuple) Cooley. He married June E. O'Connor on June 18, 1960 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Monroe.
Dale was terminal manager for Hess Cartage Co from 1964 to 1983, and then self employed with D and J Amaco Service, Dundee, from 1984 to 1994. He has helped his wife at Showtogo Video, Dundee, since 1985.
Dale attended Dundee High School and enjoyed woodworking, remodeling and home improvement projects. He also enjoyed snowmobiles and card playing. His family was his life and he was known as Daddy Dale, a people person, who never raised his voice.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Christine A. (David) Packer of Honor, MI, Karin L. (Lonnie) Kempher of Dundee, Catherine J. (Tracy Massingill) Cooley of Maybee and Kimberly J. (Jeffrey) Dusseau of Temperance. Two brothers, Delbert (Elizabeth) Cooley of Tecumseh, MO. and Donald (Lannie) Cooley of Arvada, CO. Three sisters, Marjorie Green, of Dundee, Rose McDonald of NH; and Leslie (Lollie) Patrick of Tecumseh, MO. Four grandchildren Nathaniel and Noah Dusseau, Gregory and Cassondra Packer. Five step grandchildren, Nicole and Kyle Packer and Nikita Larson-Packer, Kayla and Michael Kempher. One step great grandchild Jacob Packer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Alan and Robert Cooley, and sister Lucy Sobiegray.

Sarah (Cherrie) J. Wethern. Born April 10, 1914, the last of eight children born to Cornelius C. and Sarah (Larion) Cahill died at the Saline Evangelical Home, Saline, Michigan, on Wednesday, September 17, at the age of 94. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, she lived her early years in Detroit and returned to Pontac in 1926. She was widowed in 1933 at an early age with the death of Don C. Lick. A son, Patrick, survives. After schooling and the marriage in 1936 to the late Duane L. Wethern, she moved to Dundee, Michigan, became active at St. Irene Catholic Church, singing in the choir for 25 years, sometimes solos for weddings. She was a volunteer at the Ypsilanti State Hospital for several years in the early 1950's. Later she became a social worker for the Monroe County Department of Social Services, and after retirement was always concerned with the deprived, physically and mentally impaired and supported various missions. She is survived by sons Patrick L. (Shirley) of Brunswick, Ohio; David D. (Karen) of Baltimore, Maryland; and daughter Christine A. Bergsma, of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Joseph Wethern, of Baltimore, Maryland in 2007. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Pontiac, Michigan. Graveside services there are private.
