Thomas Lee Straub Nov. 17, 1943-Feb. 8, 2011
Thomas Lee Straub, 67 of Monroe died at 8:41 p.m. Tuesday in the home of his sister in Dundee.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of sad news.  Danny Freshour passed away late last evening.  He was found unconscious yesterday morning and was taken to the hospital  where it was determined he had a stroke.  He was taken off of life support in the early  evening and died a few hours later.

Carolyn K. Pitcher (Barnes), 68, of Monroe, passed away to her eternal life on Sunday, November 6, 2011.
Carolyn was born on January 16, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia to Elma Barnes (Riggs) and Jesse T. “Bud” Barnes. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1961. After graduation, she attended Davis Business College in Toledo, OH.
Carolyn worked at the University of Michigan and St. Joseph Hospitals for several years and later went to work for Dr. Ivan Schultz, in Dundee, MI. In 1981, Carolyn became a dispatcher for the Monroe County Central Dispatch where she worked until her retirement in 1999.
She was a member of the Dunbar Road Church of Christ.
Carolyn loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flower garden. She loved taking care of her nieces and nephews and the Daniel children.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her loving son, Sean Scott Pitcher.
She is survived by a daughter, Stacey (Ron) Harig of Hudsonville, MI, son Stephen Pitcher of Monroe, MI, her beloved grandchildren, Jesse and Julia Harig and her step-grandson Parker Bennett. She loved Julia and Jesse more than life itself.
Carolyn’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 12th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Dunbar Road Church of Christ, 3470 E. Dunbar Rd., in Monroe, MI. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 12:00 p.m., prior to service.
Carolyn’s body was donated to the University of Michigan for anatomical services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carolyn’s honor to the Monroe Relay for Life organization.

- Janet Beth "Bunny" (Chesher) DeBacker, 67, passed away Sunday January 15, 2012 at Memorial Mission Hospital.  She was born August 1, 1944 to Earl Forest and Olievee Gwyn Chesher in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Kenneth DeBacker who passed away in 1969; and two sons: Mark and Matthew DeBacker.
Bunny is survived by her son Joseph Gutierrez; daughters: Suzie Hargrove, Bethany Peart, ReBeccah Jackson, and Mary Sullivan; sisters: Penny Larson, and Gail Dooley; grandchildren: Brittany, Josh, Daniella, Racheal, ReBecca, Felecia, Hannah, Tiffany, Mariah-Anne, Maria, Linda, Morgan and Nicholas; great-grandchildren: Daniel, Kansas, Kennedy, Starla, Gavin, Ben, Noah, Eli, Thomas, Jordan and Graham.
Bunny lived with a broken heart for many years, and will be laid to rest with her first love, her husband, and two sons.
A private service will be held in June 2012 in Michigan with burial at North Side Cemetary.  In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Peart Residence located at 277 Lower Edgewood Rd. Candler, NC 28715 (will be given to MS Society and Cerebral  Palsey Society).

Connie M. (Kahley) Vinson

of Clarklake

, age 68, passed away unexpectedly, January 18, 2012. She is survived by her husband, George S.; sons Duncan (Cheryl) Moshimer of South Gate and Michael Moshimer and friend, Jill of California; step sons, George, James (Ann) and William (Brenda) Vinson; grandchildren, Joe, Brandon, Jeremy, Kelsey, Brent, Jameson, Kaitlyn and Allison Vinson and Tori Mohlman; sisters, Judy (Ron) Rowe and Barbara (Dick) Iott; brothers, Tom and Larry (Sue) Kahley; several nieces and nephews. Connie was an elementary school teacher for the Plymouth Public Schools, retiring with 32 years of service. She was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church and was the former owner of Eternal Sun Tanning Salon. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-7 P.M. and Monday from 3-7 P.M. at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake. A scripture service will be held at 7 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Rita's Catholic Church will Fr. James Shaver officiating with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Donna Lee (Kish) Baran,

age 68, of Lapeer, died Wednesday January 25, 2012. Donna was born on October 13, 1943 in Monroe to Joseph and Anna (Hancz) Kishe. Ms. Baran was an L.P.N. for Henry Ford Hospital, primarily in the emergency room, retiring after many years from the Bloomfield hospital. A highlight of her year was always her family's Fourth of July party and reunion. Donna particularly loved a trip she made with her sisters to Hungry, where her ancestors were from. Ms. Baran is survived by her daughter: Lisa (Donald) Tillery of Lapeer, grandchildren: David and Lauren as well as sisters: Joanne (James) Reaume of Romeo, Barbara Smith of KY and Theresa (Ken) Roof of OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Edward Kish. A memorial mass will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Church, Lapeer.
